The Royal Monastery of El Puig de Santa María and Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Angels of El Puig, Patron Saint of the Kingdom of Valencia since 1237.
James I ordered the construction of this Royal Monastery, entrusted to the Orden de la Merced in El Puig de Santa María, 14 kilometres north of the city of Valencia.
An unknown treasure for many.
Natinal Monument, B.I.C., strategic enclave, crossroads of roads: Vía Augusta; Camino de San Vicente Mártir; Camino del Cid, Route of the Holy Grail and Residence of the Spanish Royal Family.
Its exterior architecture is striking, but inside there is much more to discover.

Architectural
The Royal Monastery and its church began to be built in 1239 by order of James I. It was extended in the 16th century and restored in the 20th century.

Approximately 1 hour guided tour.
Guided visits: Tuesday to Saturday 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m. 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.; Sunday and public holidays at 12 p.m. Always closed on Monday.
