TheMuseo Faller of València, owned by the municipality, aims to conserve, protect and disseminate the artistic and cultural heritage that develops around the festival of the fallas, declared Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2016.
It has five permanent collections: collection of Ninots Indultats (since 1934), collection of Ninots Indultats Infantiles (since 1963), collection of posters announcing fallas (since 1929), collection of Portraits of the Falleras Mayores de València (since 1995) and the collection of the Insignias de Comisiones Falleras.
The uniqueness of its collection is due to its selection by popular vote of the collection of ninots. Every year, all the city’s fallas commissions bring their best large and children’s ninots to the Ninot Exhibition, which is held from February until Fallas week. The visiting public votes for the ninotto be saved from the flames, and the annual winner becomes part of the permanent collections of the museum.
