The Castle and Tower of the Castle of Sot de Chera

Many defensive constructions of La Serranía in the past were the origin of later towns, although some fell into ruin when they lost their defensive function.
The Castle of Sot de Chera is one of these examples: an ancient defensive enclosure of masonry from the 11th century, located on a promontory over the river Sot, in the centre of Sot de Chera. The Castle Tower is registered in the inventory of Archaeological Sites of the Valencian Community as a watchtower.
