Roman tombstone

Monuments ( L´Olleria )

The translation is: ‘Lucio Furio Murro, Furia Murrana daughter of Lucio, lived fourteen years’, a sepulchral epigraph that Lucio Furrio Murro, a Roman citizen, dedicated to his daughter, who died at the age of 14. The surnames Murranus and Murrus are attributed to Roman families with pottery workshops, which suggests that there were workshops in the municipality of L’Ollería. The manufacture of ollas (pots) gave the name to L’Ollería. We can deduce that the slab was made approximately in the 1st century BC.
