BARRIO DE BECHINOS (BECHINOS NEIGHBOURHOOD)

It is a neighbourhood of Arab origin, with a winding layout, narrow streets, slopes and traditional houses that make up the old quarter of the town. Within the neighbourhood, located in Olivera street, the Torreta stands out as a unique building, also of Arab origin, probably built between the 11th and 12th centuries for defensive purposes. It is located in the north-eastern part of the old town centre, perched on the rocky edge next to the natural boundary of the wadi.
