Roman Aqueduct of Peña Cortada

Monuments ( Calles )

The most spectacular and best preserved parts of a colossal hydraulic site of the Roman civilisation in the Iberian Peninsula, the Peña Cortada aqueduct, are to be found in the municipality of Calles. In Calles we can visit the remains of the Alcotas Wadi Bridge, the Cueva del Gato ravine bridge, which still has its three arches and is the best preserved, a large part of the tunnels and canals, as well as the cut in the mountain that gives its name to the whole complex.
