L’ETNO, Valencian Museum of Ethnology

Museums ( València )

This museum was created in 1982 with the aim of studying the culture of traditional valencian society. Objects, testimonies, photographs and documents have been recovered by the museum to document and disseminate the way of life of our ancestors.
The museum also offers educational activities and libraries.
The permanent exhibition “It is not easy to be Valencian” has been organised into three areas, each one dealing with a different theme: the City, where questions are raised that have to do with the tension between the global and local; the Huertas and the Marjales, where some of the stereotypes surrounding Valencian culture are discussed; and the Secano and the Mountain, where reference is made to little known themes of the Valencian hinterland.
