Museum of the Archaeology of Wine

The Wine Archaeology Museum of San Nicolás allows us to learn about all the aspects related to the commercialisation and production of wine since the 7th century BC. The exhibition takes us to the trade carried out by the Phoenician peoples, the beginning of production on a general scale in Solana de las Pilillas (6th century BC) and the manufacture of amphorae for the fermentation and transport processes in the pottery of Casillas del Cura (Venta del Moro). We can also learn about the production of wine associated with the small villages (Kelin) that took place in the 4th century BC, the export of wine in Roman times (1st century BC), its use in different religious rituals and festivals, the production of wine in underground caves, as well as the places where it was consumed.
