Ethnological Museum of Oliva

Right in the centre of the medieval town, an architectural complex of great heritage interest has been preserved, including the manor house of Carrer Tamarit, 2-4. Built at the end of the 14th century and consolidated with the annexation of two other houses from the 16th century onwards, it houses the ethnological collection of the city’s Archaeological Museumen. It has a permanent exhibition dedicated to the presentation of the different aspects of the traditional agricultural culture, such as those related to the use of water and the irrigating systems, market garden agriculture, cereals, rice, vines, mulberry trees, silk and oil production and orange growing. A good number of tools, implements and materials in use until not too many years ago are exhibited in its room, including those related to domestic animals -especially those used as motive power as well as for loading and transport-,located in the original stable, which has been fully presereved, and those relating to typical olive-growing gastronomy.
