The museum is housed in the former ancestral home of the Pascual family: a stately home consolidated from different phases and remodelling carried out between the 15th and 18th centuries. Refurbished between 1997 and 1999, this house conserves, in addition to a large part of its original architectural structure, a 16th century window and the emblazoned ashlar doorway (17th century) of the main entrance. The ground floor houses the museum’s permanent exhibition halls, which offer an interesting journey through the different stages of the history of Oliva and its region. In its showcases are exhibited pieces representative of the ways pf life and production of the different societies that populated these lands during Prehistory, the Iberian Culture, the Roman Period and the Middle Ages, represented by the long Islamic period and the Christian period after the Conquest of 1240. The exhibition ends with a monographic roomL dedicated to the Palacio Condal de Oliva residence of the Centelles Riu Sech family, lords of the town- where, in addition to the model of this monument, a large part of the marble columns and springers from the first floor of this building and the exceptional figure of the Palace Warrior that adorned the pediment of one of the access doors to the Hall of Arms are exhibited.
