Lliría is nicknamed “City of Music” because of the close relationship with the art. Two hundred-year-old music societies, La Primitiva and La Unión Musical, many bands and orchestras, and excellent concert halls, confirm the name. It is a must for music-loving visitors to the Province to find time to enjoy that aspect of the city.
Llíria, whose origin goes back to Iberian times, also has important historical monuments which justify a visit by themselves.
For lovers of archaeology there is the large site at Tossal de Sant Miquel, where the old city of Edeta once stood, one of major Iberian cities in the Province.
