History and Archaeology Museum of Silla, MARS.

Museums ( Silla )

The MARS houses historical pieces of our town – from the archaeological excavations in la Plaza del Pueblo, Mas de Baix, Font del Gat and other sites – covering a wide range of centuries that show the different populations that lived in the aea: Romans, Muslims and after them, with the arrival of Jaume I, the medieval Christians. The collection is distributed in the museum building, with the Roman exhibition, and the Muslim tower, which occupies the pieces of this period, accompanied by an exhibition on the upper floor of ethnology. It is both a project and a living space that brings together a permanent collectiontaht tries to transmit the historical facts through the pieces and, with them, an educational and participative space. The main purpose is based on the awareness of cultural, historical, artistical and archaeological heritage. It is an entity that provides guided tours to visitors, from schools, workshops to researchers in the area.
