El Pozo de la Nieve (The Snow Well)

This building dates from the 17th century. It is a snow deposit that was used to preserve foodstuffs, a technique already used by the Muslims. It basically consists of an underground reservoir dug out of the ground and covered with a square structure covered with a false masonry vault, built with thick walls that help to insulate the snow during storage.
