CASTLE OF PALMA

The castle of Palma is located in the Serreta area (Sierra de Ador) and has been declared a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC). A concentric rectangular structure and the remains of a cistern can be seen.
It is an 11th-century Andalusian hisn that formed part of the network of castles that was articulated around the Castle of Bairén (Gandia). In the 13th century, with the Conquest, the castle was given by Jaume I to the lord of Vilaragut and it had different owners until it was abandoned in the 15th century.
