ALMOHAD TOWER (12th century) AND PALACE-CASTLE OF BESELGA (15th century)

The tower of Beselga was built in the 12th century during the Almohad Empire and was renovated in the 15th century during the Christian domination. It was located in the sentinel tower axis of the valley of Palància on the Sagunt-Xérica road. The original height was around 12 metres. It has a square floor plan. The walls are built using the Muslim rammed-earth technique. In the 15th century it was annexed to a castle-palace, at the time of Baron Gràcià de Monsoriu. It had two levels.
