Capella de la Mare de Déu de la Font

The most emblematic building in the municipality, as it houses the image of the patron saint of Vilallonga, the Mare de Déu de la Font (a polychrome wood carving in Byzantine style, only 12 cm high). It was found by a local charcoal burner, Senent Pla, on 17th August 1708, in a box floating in the river Alcoy near the Racó del Duc natural site. After 4 years of drought, he placed the carving on the dry fountain and the water flowed again.
