Trinquet de Pilota Valenciana

Traditional sport of the País Valencià, a variant of the game of pilota. The sport of pilota was widely practised in Ancient Greece and was introduced in the Iberian Peninsula during the Roman Empire.
Raspall (brush in Valencian) is regularly played in Bellreguard. It takes its name from the fact that players have to scrape the surface with their fingers in order to return the ball, as it is quite common for the ball to roll around the surface. Professional games are played at the trinquet all year round.
