Gastronomy:<\/h4>\r\nGazpacho is one of the town\u2019s typical dishes, as are \u201cgachamiga\u201d and \u201cles farinetes\u201d (garlic soup). The region\u2019s mushrooms are famed for their excellence.\r\n\r\nLocal sweets include \u201clos sequillos\u201d (biscuits with beaten egg white) and \u201cmoixentins\u201d (made with almonds).\r\n\r\nThe local virgin olive oil is of high quality, as is the white and red wine produced in Moixent.\r\n

Places of interest:<\/h4>\r\nMoixent has been host to many cultures throughout its history, as evidenced by the archaeological remains found nearby, including\u00a0the Iberian settlement of \u201cBastida de les Alcusses\u201d<\/strong>, where the \u201cGuerrer de Moixent\u201d, a statue of extraordinary artistic value was discovered. The statue is currently in the Valencia Museum of Prehistory.\r\n\r\nIn its municipal term we can also find interesting sites such as\u00a0El Bosquet<\/strong>.\r\n\r\nFurthermore, in Moixent we can find a Muslim\u00a0castle<\/strong>\u00a0dating from the Almohad period and the gothic Church of Saint Peter the Apostle.\r\n\r\nFurther sites of interest include the Chapel of the Holy Relics and the Chapel of the Franciscan Convent, which currently houses the Archaeological Museum.\r\n

Festivities:<\/h4>\r\nDuring the third weekend of August, festivities are celebrated in honour of Saints Abdon and Sennen.
