During its passage through the municipality, the River J\u00facar carries its maximum volume, bringing life, wealth and great variety of landscapes. Thanks to the waters of the River J\u00facar, Sumac\u00e0rcer has traditionally been a village dedicated to agriculture. The village sits on a terrace around the river, nestled on the mountainside. Gastronomy:<\/h4>\r\nThe village\u2019s most typical dish is \u201cles orelletes\u201d.\r\n

Places of interest:<\/h4>\r\nSumac\u00e0rcer stands out for its areas of natural beauty and hiking trails. The most important routes are the \u201cCami de la Costa\u201d and \u201cLa Tosca\u201d trails. The \u201cCam\u00ed de la Costa\u201d trail, one of the best-known in the municipality, was a communication route serving \u201cCanal de Navarr\u00e9s\u201d. Only five minutes away, it offers a view of the village and part of Valle del J\u00facar, dominated by the green fields full of orange trees surrounding the river. Just after some olive groves, the trail begins to cross the impressive cliffs of the \u201cLlop\u201d ravine and one of the municipality\u2019s most important forest areas. The \u201cTosca\u201d route is relatively easy for the first two-thirds, whilst the last section is fairly up and down and steep in some places. Located in the \u201cTosca\u201d ravine, the trail starts next to the Navarr\u00e9s road and runs atop the water canal that leads from \u201cFuente de la Tosca\u201d to Plaza de l\u2019Era, located inside the village. The waters of the River J\u00facar provide a perfect setting for practicing sports such as fishing, swimming, canoeing and hiking.\r\n

Festivities:<\/h4>\r\nThe village\u2019s main festivities are held during the first week of September in honour of the Holy Christ of La Morera. The festivities of the Daughters of Mary and the Monument to Youth are celebrated during the last weekend of May in honour of the Immaculate Conception, and include the installation (plant\u00e0<\/em>) and burning (crem\u00e0<\/em>) of a \u201cFalla\u201d.
