It lies 27 km from Valencia and has a population of about 2,300 inhabitants. The River Magro crosses the municipality, and its waters are used to irrigate the local agricultural land. The local mountains include \u201cLa Serreta\u201d, \u201cEl Espol\u00f3n\u201d, \u201cEl Carruchal\u201d and the hills of \u201cPe\u00f1asco\u201d and \u201cSogroy\u201d. Gastronomy:<\/h4>\r\nLocal dishes of note include \u201cl\u2019arr\u00f2s amb fessols i naps\u201d (rice with beans and turnip, bacon, pig\u2019s trotter and snout, blood sausage), as well as the sweets known as \u201corelletes\u201d.\r\n

Places of interest:<\/h4>\r\nA mainly agricultural municipality, dedicated to the cultivation of citrus fruits, it preserves the popular \u201cball de la pla\u00e7a\u201d, a traditional dance performed with a torch. The flamboyant gothic parish church was erected in 1587, although it has subsequently suffered additions and innovations. At the top of a hill there are the remains of the castle called \u201cdels Alcalans\u201d built by Muslims.\r\n

Festivities:<\/h4>\r\nIts main festivities are celebrated at the beginning of June in honour St. Peter the Apostle.
