Its lands are watered by the River J\u00facar to the north and by the River Sellent to the west. Its economy is based on agriculture, especially the cultivation and commercialization of oranges. Due to urban development, the centre of C\u00e0rcer is attached to the neighbouring municipality, Alc\u00e1ntara of J\u00facar, forming a joint conurbation of approximately 3,400 inhabitants.","galeria-poblacion":"","descripcion_2":"

Gastronomy:<\/h4>\r\nPaella, \u201cfideu\u00e0\u201d (noodles), \u201cgazpachos\u201d and stews are the most representative dishes of the local gastronomy.\r\n

Places of interest:<\/h4>\r\nC\u00e0rcer\u2019s most outstanding monuments include the parish church of the Assumption (18th century), the \u201cSan Roque\u201d neighbourhood, an old part of the town consisting of narrow, cobbled streets; the remains of \u201cL\u2019Arca\u201d, an aqueduct that was restored after the floods of October 1982. The mouth of the River Sellent forms an interesting natural landscape.\r\n

Festivities:<\/h4>\r\nMoors and Christian festivities are held at the beginning of September.
