The municipality\u2019s terrain is hilly and mountainous. The main peaks are \u201cLoma Alta\u201d (449 m.), \u201cLoma Requena\u201d (353 m.) and \u201cCantal del Cazador\u201d. The village is located on a plain, on the right bank of River Vernissa and at the foot of a hill. Gastronomy:<\/h4>\r\nThe most notable local dishes are made with rice, including \u201carr\u00f2s al forn\u201d (baked rice) and \u201carr\u00f2s amb costra\u201d (crusty rice). Other dishes include \u201ccoques de dacsa\u201d, rabbit with garlic and noodles with fish stock.\r\n\r\nLocal sweets and pastries include \u201cpastissets of moniato i els ametla\u201d (sweet potato and almond cakes).\r\n

Places of interest:<\/h4>\r\nFont Bella<\/strong> (with recreational area, paella-making facilities, etc.). Where the village women formerly did the washing and collected water for domestic use. The area has been renovated and is equipped with tables and facilities for making barbecues and paellas with firewood.\r\n\r\nFont de la Murta (located in the mountains)<\/strong>\r\n\r\nRiu-raus<\/strong>. Formerly used for harvested grapes. The harvested grapes were scalded with boiling water and then dried in the sun. The grapes were then kept inside the building during the night or when there were threats of rain.\r\n\r\nOld town<\/strong>. As befits a humble, farming village, local features include the church of Saint John the Baptist, \u201cCalle d\u2019en Mig\u201d, which is used for Valencian \u201cpelota\u201d competitions, and the monument erected in memory of \u201cLa Poassa\u201d, a former communal trough for cattle.\r\n\r\nChurch of Saint John the Baptist.<\/strong> Dating from 16th century, it consists of a single nave with two chapels between buttresses. Mention may be made of the classical decoration of the pillars and the square belltower.\r\n

  • On the Thursday before Ash Wednesday, \u201cCassoletes\u201d (rice cooked with a crust) are prepared in the mountains.<\/li>\r\n \t
  • In June, festivities are held in honour of Saint John the Baptist.<\/li>\r\n \t
  • During the first weekend of August, festivities are celebrated in honour of the Immaculate Conception, the Divine Aurora and the Christ of Faith, together with Moors and Christians parades.<\/li>\r\n \t
